A Minor Incident

Things I learned while grading quizzes today:

1) A similarity between recreation in ancient Greece and in the U.S. today is “Tigers fighting tigers.” Another similarity is “We both play with balls.”

2) Catholics used to arrest little boys for playing on playgrounds.

3) People in the Industrial Revolution couldn’t enjoy their leisure time because they didn’t have the money to go to the movies.

4) People in the Industrial Revolution became sad due to their lack of leisure time, leading to the Great Depression.

These are college students. I’m currently on my second glass of wine. That bottle might be gone before I’m done…
